Pluralistic Counselling & Psychotherapy
About Me
Hi, I'm Kas Fielding, I'm a Counsellor & Psychotherapist (Prof. Dip Psy C MNCPS Accred.) This means I have a professional diploma in counselling and psychotherapy and am accredited by the NCPS.
Having worked in many industries over the last 34 years, I understand the pressures of different work environments from early starts to night shifts; most recently the TV/Film, NHS and Music. We underestimate the volume of external messages and pressures that impact our lives, let alone the internal. With that it’s important to take time to filter out what your own mind and body needs.
It might be easy to assume that therapists are always calm and have everything figured out, but that's not realistic. We face our own daily stresses, anxieties, and joys. Along the way, we’ve gathered some useful tools, and we enjoy sharing them with you.
I use traditional psychotherapeutic talking therapy and work in a Pluralistic way. Pluralistic practice in simple terms is 'diversity in counselling' and I use the range of methods available to me, depending on how you need to work as an individual.
We can integrate traditional counselling and psychotherapy with energy work, such as reiki, visualisation, and breathwork. Working creatively, with art, music and ecotherapy is just as transformative. Technically, talking it itself is energy work. Together, we explore all aspects of your life, identifying what's missing and how to create meaningful change, this is the essence of holistic coaching. When approached with respect, the metaphysical can be just as impactful as traditional psychotherapy.
I'm inspired by how resilient we are when we set our minds and hearts to a task. I'm interested in working with people who actively want to work on themselves and make changes that benefit themselves and therefore the world around them.
At the core, I have a person centred approach. This means I listen to what you need to talk about. Sometimes we need to give ourselves the space to get to know ourselves and talk it all through. I also have a psychodynamic approach which may look into the past and the subconscious, and use CBT / DBT approaches which can be more directive in helping you find a way forward. Integrating these forms of past, present and future with a holistic approach, is liberating way of working.
I understand how heavy it can feel to hold onto sadness and pain for a short time, let alone years. It can be a huge and sometimes stressful process to look for a therapist, decide to commit and then share your private pain with someone that you don't know.
Rest assured that the therapeutic space we create, is a safe and non-judgemental speaking platform. My aim is to guide you to be the best version of themselves, as you perceive it.
We can work in person in my therapy room in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, online or with outdoor therapy (ecotherapy) - we can make the most of what nature has to offer, whether that be in a local nature reserve or sitting in a park. Often that is in the Buckinghamshire / Oxfordshire area, sometimes Wiltshire and Cornwall.
Feel free to get in touch and book a free, 25 minute no obligation intro chat. We can run through any questions that you have.
